Presentations & Trainings

In her interactive presentations, trainings and workshops, Slow Democracy co-author Susan Clark shares inspiring success stories and teaches new techniques for inclusive, sustainable decision making.

Participants hear stories from communities across the U.S. and beyond that are making their local decision-making processes more inclusive, deliberative, and empowered. From these examples, participants glean practical techniques for increasing participation and civility in community discussions.

A Slow Democracy event will be tailored to your needs, bringing slow democracy concepts to life and helping participants create communities that are more civically engaged, economically stable, and environmentally sustainable.

“I cannot tell you how many people have commented on your talk. You did such a great job and tailored it beautifully to our group. Your personality and presentation style enhanced what was already bound to be a compelling discussion. Slow Democracy continues to come up in conversation at our program and has surely made a lasting impression.”

“Susan Clark spoke to a packed auditorium … some of the folks in the room were initially naïve, and some hard-boiled cynics. By the end of her presentation, all were inspired. That is an amazing gift.”

Steve Chase, Director of Advocacy for Social Justice and Sustainability Department of Environmental Studies, Antioch University New England (NH)
